Great Little Dresses for Spring

One of the best trends happening, unless you are very overweight, is the one towards body consciousness. A lot of the dresses out there are made of Lycra and silk and other fabrics that skim the body closely. A good example is the Keepsake We All Want Love Bodycon dress that has peepholes and straps attached to a very sleek black mini-dress.  Bebe makes a similar dress in white but the side panels of the mini are black to give the effect of more cinched in waist.  The height of this type of fashion those is the bone and white body hugging dress that is made of both Lycra and leather.

Also very body conscious is the Herve Lege Valentine Bandage dress which is a dress ribbed with shiny pink Spandex from the mid thigh up to the breast.  Expect to pay close to a grand for this type of style which also clings to every curve. It is like wearing a girdle over your entire body.  Similar and cheaper is the Carven Red Jersey Bandage dress which is a diagonal wrap dress. Rachel Comey Lair presents a pale purple dress covered with beautiful violets with splashes of yellow.

Another big Spring trend is going to be for sequined dresses in the dark hues such as gold, black and gunmetal. Erine Fethreston has a dress with a shirred short skirt and a halter top. French connection has put out a Coco Chanel style straight shift with a rounded neck and enormous sequins. Rachel Zoe also has supes short mini dress with short sleeves in platinum metallic sequins that looks great with tan boots.  Some of these minis are also a bit sheer with big sequins and three quarter length sleeves.  Mango puts out a beautiful sheer mini for under $100 in basic glittery black.

Yet another big trend that also seems to come around just about every Spring is the floral print. Philip Lim is selling a fetching floral print with big purple and black petunias on a white background.

Not every print is floral Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti is selling a striped dress with bars of baroque wrought iron style designs. The stripes themselves are in different hues of peach and coral. If you love the sixties Mad Men look Parker has a printed silk color block shift dress that features pink, orange, umbra and black geometrics. The theme of the wrought iron fence is also part of the latest Robert Rodrigues Lace-Print Open Back Dress that has a halter collar from the neck.
